Central Europe Throwdown 2014

When it came to organising a CrossFit event we were holding back for quiet a long time. Everything we do, we do at our best and till we didn't have enough time for a project this big we didn't want to "try to do it", so we waited and did it once and well. And the waiting paid out. Central Europe Throwdown is our benchmark project and the first event, in which we were envolved as the organiser himself, together with BodyWorld and Reebok. Three months for three heads weren't exactly the ideal schedule to plan an event like this, but we went for it and everything turned out as planned. Europe's best athletes got together in Bratislava a we had a great time!

The following link describes the whole event from a judge's/attendee's point of view and the videos capture the one of a kind atmosphere so don't hesitate to watch them:)

PG's position in CET was a twofold one and neither one was an easy one:) Organising the event was one thing. But since we were also the main sponsor of the whole equipment used in the event, we had to test everything and take into account every single screw and AAA battery for the timer. We're pretty used to gearing up events, but CET was definitely a special one - from the biggest rig we ever built (17m long, 3,5m high) to a whole new audience. Building the rig we had to work out several things, one of them being how to mount the rig to be stable enough without actually drilling it to the ground. In the end we build four large weight and mounted the rig with heavy straps. We had to try it out first so we actually built the whole thing a week before at our box CrossFit Pressburg - where we have enough space we our little tests:) Tests went well and the only thing left was to make the real thing. Night before the event nobody from the PG crew got any real sleep, the awesome crew worked late but at about 2am everything was up and prepared. In the morning tied up last loose ends and were prepared to set a new standard in Central Europe:)

Our role in CrossFit events starts as the first and ends as the last and without our PG crew we can't even imagine making it all happen. We'd like to take this opportunity and all the volunteers involved, namely the La Garder brothers - our mounting brothers and Zolo - our kit crew's leader!
